What a wild ride 2022 has been. As I look back on the year, I’m filled with gratitude for the good, the bad and the ugly. In preparing for the new year I wanted to share some numerology aspects and some of my personal favorite reflections to close out the year and ring in the new.
Numerology emphasizes a relationship between numbers, events, and the traits and goals we find within our personal life. 2022 carries with it the energy of the number 6 (2 + 0 + 2 + 2 = 6). The number 6 is ruled by Venus and emphasizes love, beauty and pleasure. The year highlighted for myself and many others an opportunity to sit with the idea of what unconditional love means – both the aspects of giving unconditional love (to self and others) as well as receiving.
I’ve created a few self-reflection journal prompts you can access here, if you’d like to explore this more.
2023 carries with it the energy of the number 7 (2 + 0 + 2 + 3 = 7). The number 7 is ruled by Neptune which brings with it elements of spiritual awakening, self-awareness, willpower, determination and success. In many cultures, 7 is considered a sacred number, thought to be connected to the cycles of life and representative of divine perfection, completeness, and good fortune.
I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for that!
I don’t believe in resolutions because of the strict nature that comes with them. Consistency is not perfection, yet we tend to conflate the two, particularly at the beginning of the year.
Rather than resolutions, I like to set intentions.
What do I want 2023 to feel like?
What are 1-3 areas in my personal life that I want to dedicate myself to?
What commitments am I setting for myself this year?
The word I’ve chosen for 2023 is satisfaction. I’m talking about deep, soul satisfaction. The thing you feel when you pause in the middle of the experience you’re having and think to yourself, this is everything.
My intention is to bring that energy into every moment possible. When I’m by myself or with my loved ones, when I face a challenge, when I’m cared for by another, when I meet a stranger and hear their story, when I try a new food, when I visit a new place, when I embrace a moment of stillness, when I do the inner work… Anything and everything.
What are your intentions for 2023? I’d love it if you’d share with me in a reply.
Cheers to the learning that took place in 2022 and may you experience the expansion from it in 2023.
With so much love,
